Bette smiled as Tinas moans filled her ears. Tina was having one of her more emotional days and with the baby due sometime within the next two weeks Bette was more than ready for whatever Tina was going to throw at her. Today did manage to catch Bette a little off guard however and after a hectic morning Tina found herself nearly salivating at the thought of making love to Bette. She had woken Bette up from her nap because she couldnt take it any longer and after getting her bearings back, Bette had been slowly torturing Tina all afternoon. Tina was straddling Bette who had one hand gently stroking her swollen ***** and the other hand lightly teasing her erect nipples. Tina was slowly grinding her hips to meet Bettes thrusts when all of a sudden Tina stopped moving and had a surprised expression on her face. Bette stopped moving too, seeing Tinas face, and laughed when Tina practically jumped off her and ran to the bathroom. Damn she still has to pee a lot I guess, thought Bette as she waited for Tina to come back. A few minutes went by before Bette heard Tina yell from the bathroom.

BABE!

Bette jumped up, now very concerned, and almost fell flat on her face as she ran to the bathroom. She saw Tina standing in front of the sink using both hands to support herself and Bette felt her stomach drop seeing Tina in such distress.

Baby whats wrong?

Nothings wrong but I think myOW! OW! OW!

Tinas face contorted in pain as Bette stood there wide-eyed waiting for Tina to tell her what was wrong. After a few seconds Tina let out a forced breath and tried to continue again.

I think my water broke.

WHAT?

Bette stood there still not knowing what to do as she looked around trying to find something to tell her what was happening. Tina looked at Bettes panicked face and almost laughed but held it in so that she didnt hurt Bettes feelings. Tina motioned for Bette to help her walk back to the bedroom so that she could get dressed and they could go to the hospital. Bette gently supported Tinas weight and sat her down on the bed as she opened the closet and threw the first thing she grabbed at Tina. Tina put on the top Bette gave her but laughed when she looked at the jeans Bette had thrown on the bed.

Babe I dont think these will fit right now.

What? Oh ***** sorryumhere.

Bette handed Tina a pair of gray sweat pants and after throwing some clothes on herself, she grabbed the overnight bag they had packed and she helped Tina walk towards the front door. Dr. Wilson had told Tina that being prepared for birth pretty much starting at the beginning of the ninth month was a good thing so that when it did happen they were ready, so Tina had made Bette pack her a bag of overnight stuff to take to the hospital when the day actually came. They almost made it to the front door when Tina felt another set of contractions coming on and she made Bette stop. Bette let Tina sit on the couch and held her as the painful contractions ripped through her body. Tina whimpered at the pain and Bette just held her tight kissing her lightly on the head and told her that she loved her. After Tinas contractions passed they stood up again and a few minutes later Bette had Tina seated in the car and they were on the way to the hospital.

They reached the hospital in record time despite Tina yelling that if Bette got them into an accident right now she would kill her, and Bette hopped out quickly and helped Tina out. Bette left Tina leaning against the door as she ran into the ER and yelled to a nurse that she had a pregnant woman outside. An orderly with a wheelchair followed her outside and after seating Tina comfortably Bette got back in her car to park in the structure before running back to the ER. She looked around and didnt see Tina at first so she went to the desk to ask where they had taken her. The nurse on duty told her that Tina had been moved to the pre-natal ward on the third floor and Bette made it up there in record time. She didnt see Tina in the waiting room up here either, so she asked the nurse where Tina was and grew irritated as the nurse asked her who she was and all that. After answering all the nurses ridiculous questions, Bette finally went into room 310 where Tina was lying on a bed now dressed in a hospital gown with a nurse standing over her taking her vitals. Bette walked over to her and Tina smiled when she saw her and quickly reached out to take Bettes hand. The nurse said that Tina was only dilated about three centimeters and her contractions were still too far apart so they would have to wait. The nurse left quietly and Bette smiled at Tina and leaned down to give her a kiss on the head. Tina looked at Bette and her face contorted again as another contraction passed through her. Just then Bettes cell went off and Bette ignored it at first but Tina told her to just answer it since they might be here a while. Bette kissed her hand before slipping out to the hallway and picking up the phone angrily.

What?

Bette? Its Alice. Whats going on? You sound pissed.

Im at the hospital.

What happened? Is Tina alright? Did something happen to the baby?

Shes finetheyre fineshes in labor.

NOW? Why the ***** are you talking to me then? Okay Im going to get Shane and Dana and well be right over.

Bette hung up and walked back into the room. Tina had her eyes closed but opened them when she felt Bette approach. Tina looked up at her and smiled.

I cant believe its happening babe.

I know. How are you feeling?

Okayit hurts thoughso who was on the phone?

Alice. Her, Shane and Dana are on their way.

Tina laughed and Bette gently stroked her hair when another contraction hit Tina only this time it hit with more force and brought along a few friends. Tina was gripping Bettes arm tighter than Bette thought was humanly possible and Bette was about to say something when Dr. Wilson walked in the room.

Oh Bette, Tinahow are things?

Painful.

Dr. Wilson laughed softly and gave Bette and Tina a smile. She checked Tinas vitals again and told her she was doing great. Tina tried to smile at Dr. Wilson, but she was still recovering from the shocks of the last contraction. Dr. Wilson left again and Bette sat down next to Tina and held her hand as she stroked her hair gently and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

Six hours later Tina was still in labor and she was still only dilated seven centimeters but she swore she was going to pass out from being so tired. Her contractions were coming in slightly more rapid succession but Dr. Wilson said they still needed to wait just a little bit before going into the delivery room. Alice, Shane and Dana were sitting in the waiting room holding balloons, flowers and a stuffed teddy bear as they waited for the arrival of the newest member of their family. Bette had stuck her head out a few times to tell them how Tina was doing, but for the most part she had been sitting by Tinas side telling her how much she loved her. Bette saw Tina close her eyes for a moment so she gently untangled her hand from Tinas and walked out to the waiting area. The three amigos jumped up when Bette emerged but Bette just shook her head at them telling them it still hadnt happened yet. Bette sat down looking completely stressed out and exhausted and Alice patted Bette softly on the back and looked at her sympathetically.

Dont worry Bettethis will all be over soon.

Yeah I hope sofor Tinas sake at least.

How is she holding up Bette?

Shes exhausted. She was never good with pain as it is, and the contractions are coming faster, but the doctor says its still not time yet.

Wasnt the baby not due for like another two weeks?

Yeah Danabut sometimes I guess they get a little impatient and theres no stopping them once they want to come out.

Well at least we know the kid will have some of your traits Bette.

Bette shoved Alice lovingly as she laughed at her joke. Bette stood up to walk back to the room where Tina was waiting and waived at them once more before going back in. Bette quietly walked back to the bed and smiled when she saw Tinas eyes open.

Hey babyhowre you doing?

I just want this kid out of me Bette

Bette laughed softly and leaned down to kiss Tina lightly on the lips. Bette sat back down and reached for the cup of ice chips that were next to the bed. She fed Tina a few of them and took a piece and ran it along the outside of Tinas lips. This seemed to relax her a little and Bette repeated it again before putting the cup back. Another contraction ripped through Tina and this time Bette could really hear the pain in Tinas groan. Bette knew all of Tinas different noises and she didnt like the way this one sounded. Bette held Tinas hands in hers and winced a little when Tina gripped it in the death grip she had on Bettes arm earlier, but Bette didnt say anything because she knew Tina would explode on her if she did. Dr. Wilson came back in just then and after checking Tina again, she smiled at them and told Tina it was time. Three nurses came and wheeled Tina into the delivery room as another suited Bette up in a pair of scrubs so that she could be there with Tina when this happened.

Tina was lying with her feet in the stirrups and she was sweating profusely. Bette walked over to her and took her hand as contraction after contraction shook Tinas body. Bette didnt know where all these sudden contractions came from but nevertheless she was glad the baby was finally coming out. Tina was breathing hard and she was squeezing the color out of Bettes hand when Bette suddenly wondered if she would be able to take the sight of blood. Bette was trying to relax Tina but she learned first hand that the myth of angry mothers in labor was no joke.

SHUT UP BETTEYOU ***** BREATHE.

Bette looked at Tina in disbelief but gave her a small smile when she saw Tinas apologetic eyes. Dr. Wilson came in just then followed by the three nurses who surrounded Tina and prepared for the arrival of their baby. Dr. Wilson got in position between Tinas legs and gave her some instructions.

Okay Tinanow when you feel the next contraction I want you to push okay?

Okayokayokay

Tinas breathing was heavily labored and Bette felt helpless as Tina screamed out in pain when the contraction hit her body. Her face turned red as she pushed as hard as she could to get this baby out of her and Bette kept wiping the sweat and hair out of Tinas face as she softly told her to breathe and that she loved her.

Shiiiiit.

Tinas body went slack after the contraction passed and Dr. Wilson looked up with a calm look on her face.

Okay TinaI need you to relaxyour body is tensing up so its making it hard for the baby to come out. I am going to push her back in just a little and I need you to try it again okay?

WHAT??

Tina looked at Dr. Wilson like she was insane as Bette patted her hand and Tina shot her a look that would have left her dead and buried. Bette got the message and stopped patting her hand and went back to gently rubbing her arm and wiping the sweat off her face. Tina felt another contraction build rapidly and she tried to keep her body as relaxed as possible while using all her strength to bring this baby out of her body.

Good Tina.keep pushing

Tinas face grew even redder as she struggled to push the babys head out of her body and Tina let out a sound Bette had never heard before. It was a cry so painful it rocked Bette to her core and she was about to lean down and support Tinas shoulders when Tina yelled at her.

DONT ***** TOUCH ME BETTE.

Bette stood up straight and one of the nurses gave her an empathetic look and told her they say things like that all the time. Bette gave her an embarrassed smile that quickly turned to a look of pain when she felt Tina grip her hand so hard that Tinas short fingernails dug into her hand causing Bettes hand to bleed a little. Tina was almost sitting up from pushing so hard and after one more last, hard, painful, exhausting pushthe baby was born. Tina collapsed on the bed out of sheer exhaustion as she felt her body finally relax from all that stress. Dr. Wilson held the baby and motioned for Bette to come over and cut the umbilical cord so Bette kissed Tina lightly on the forehead and went over to do the honors and after seeing all the blood and other liquids that came out along with the baby Bette felt herself grow extremely nauseous. One of the nurses wiped the baby off a little and wrapped her in a pink blanket before handing her carefully to Tina. Tina looked down at her daughter and tears instantly filled her eyes. Bette saw this sight for the first time and she stood there smiling proudly at her family. Tina looked up and smiled at Bette and Bette walked over and stood next to Tina who was holding their baby girl.

Hi Liz

Liz of course didnt respond and she lay there with her eyes still closed and her mouth open as she wiggled softly in the blanket. Bette put an arm around Tina and kissed her forehead softly as Tina sighed happily and leaned into Bette. A nurse came by to take the baby to get cleaned up and take some measurements and another was hooking an IV up to Tina so that they could get some of the nutrients back in Tinas body. Bette smiled proudly at Tina and Tina gazed at her with loving eyes. After a few seconds Bette couldnt take it anymore and she gave Tina one last smile before running out of the delivery room and into the bathroom. As she threw up into the toilet she half laughed thinking to herself, I guess I cant take the sight of blood after all.
