Bette sat up slightly in her chair and waited as she listened to the footsteps of the girl crossing the room behind her chair. The girl stopped just out of Bettes field of vision, standing slightly behind and to the left of her chair. What was it that you wanted to see me about, sir? asked the same sweet soft voice that had so caught Bettes attention moments before.

Erin, I have chosen you to give a new student an orientation today. You can get your schedule from Mrs. Campbell when you leave. Bette, this is Erin McKenna, she will be giving you your orientation today. Bette took the hint and stood up and began to gather her schedule and bag in preparation for leaving. Erin, I trust that you have dome this a sufficient number of times and will not need any specific direction from me?

No, sir

Now girls, if you will kindly excuse me I am off to begin the freshman assembly. Your brother is a freshman this year isnt he, Erin?

Yes, he is.

Well, perhaps there is some hope for that class, said Mr. Stevens as he left the room Bette thought she directed a slight touch of humor in his voice but she couldnt imagine a man so imposing and assertive finding many things humorous.

As Bette turned around she found herself facing a tall blonde girl wearing a uniform identical to Bettes with one exception. Instead of white knee highs Erin was wearing a pair of pink and purple checkered tights. Bette only glimpsed this oddity momentarily; her eyes were quickly drawn up to Erins face. She had big deep blue eyes and wavy blonde hair, and at the moment was smiling at Bette.

She extended her hand toward Bette. Hi, Bette, Im Erin, as I would assume you have already surmised.

The warmth and humor in Erins voice made Bette relax slightly. Thank god, at least this wont be awkward. Bette shook Erins hand and said Hi with a slight laugh.

Alright, I have to get my schedule outside and then we can get started.

Bette followed Erin out of the headmasters office and toward his secretarys desk.

Good morning, Mrs. Campbell, Mr. Stevens told me you had my schedule out here.

Good morning, Erin. Now I saw that schedule just a minute ago she begins shuffling through the mess of papers on her desk. I just cant imagine what I did with it. Cant believe Ive already lost something

As Mrs. Campbell continues to move piles of paper around on her desk and open and close drawers in what seems to be an entirely method-less search Erin turned to Bette with a slight giggle and a roll of her eyes, she mouths This could take while and gestures for Bette to have a seat.

While Erin stood at Mrs. Campbells desk waiting for her to find the schedule Bette took the opportunity to examine Erins tights. As she stared at them Bette was hardly aware of her attention drifting from the tights to the legs in them. When her mind snapped back to attention she was shocked and embarrassed to find herself admiring what she had just been thinking of as Erins long, athletic looking legs. What the ***** was that? she thought to herself. She just managed to calm her facial expression as Erin turned around.

You ready? she asked.

Yes, said Bette as she stood up and followed Erin to the door.

As she followed the blonde out of the door she caught herself noticing how round Erins ***** looked in the pleated skirt and found herself unsure how to react to her own behavior for the second time that day. As she forced her eyes to focus straight ahead and quickened her pace so that she was walking side by side with Erin she fought to conceal her distraction and focus on the day ahead of her.
