Ch 22

Daniel was self-employed and he worked from home. She rang the bell and waited. Daniel was so excited to see her and showed her in quickly and sat her down on his big and comfortable sofa. He was very please to see her again, so pleased that he started to fuss around her. Nat motioned him to stop and to come and sit next to her. Daniel brought her a cup of steaming coffee and placed it on the table next to her and sat on the sofa beside her. His face was beaming with joy, his little sister was at his house and he felt honoured.
After the exchange of pleasantries Nat was still hesitant and didnt know how to go about asking him such a thing.
Daniel: Natasha you look so great, pregnancy suits you well, if you could see my wife when she was pregnant? My God, she lost so much weight and was sick all the time, till the day of her delivery, she suffered with both of them so much.
Nat: I am so sorry to hear this Daniel, so you I guess youll not be having any more children?
Daniel: Yes thats right, I dont think I can stand to put her through all that again, I want more children but its not fair on Amanda, she has it really bad.
Nat: So does that mean that you will not ever father a child with another woman?
Daniel: Natasha what is on your mind honey, tell me?
Natasha: Daniel I have something to tell you that I havent told anyone else, not even Bette.
Daniel was feeling a bit uneasy now and wanted to know what his little sister had to say.
Daniel: What, what is it Natasha are you unwell?
Nat: Not exactly, but I have been hiding the full truth of my hearts condition from all of you and especially from Bette. I made my doctor honour doctor patients confidentiality and keep the information from her. I couldnt tell her everything Daniel, I couldnt, it would break her heart and I cant bear to this to her or to you all. I have waited so long to find you and see you and Mary again. But now I have come to tell you because I need you to do something for me and for Bette. I dont know what is going to happen to me, but if the worst come to the worse I want you to know that that was the only reason behind my request.
Daniel: Nat you are scaring me now, nothing is going to happen to you my darling, and you are going to live to be a dear old lady, trust me.
Nat: I hope so my dear, I hope so, but I still want to ask you this and get it of my chest.
Daniel: Ok if it makes you happy?
Nat: Daniel, Bette wants to get pregnant and have a baby, she begged me to ask you if youd do her the honours and be her donor? It would mean so much to her and to me too. She wants to keep it in the family and that way we can all be connected through flesh and blood.
Daniel jumped up and was actually angry. He didnt want to blow up in his sisters face, so he left the sitting room for what it felt like eternity. When he returned he looked a bit calmer and at peace. Nat was still sitting sipping on her coffee; she was boiling inside and wanted to know Danielss answer. Daniel sat down and took Natashas free hand in his.
Daniel: I am very happy that you have confided in me Nat about your heart condition, but it was not fair on my wife or on me to ask me to do such a thing. You know how much I love you and I want you and Bette to be happy. Please dont let me think that you are going to die Nat. I cant take it, I honestly cant.
Daniel started to cry so did Nat, she put her coffee down and hugged Daniel and kissed his face.
Nat: I am sorry if I have burdened you with this Daniel, I truly am. But we have to face facts I might still die, who knows. I am only 25 years old Daniel, God knows how much living I still want to live it is breaking my heart to just think about it. You and I know that Mary had adopted her children because of her heart condition, she didnt want to risk it, and I didnt disclose this information to Bette, I didnt want her to lose sleep over it and you know how much Bette worries!!!! I love Bette so much and was not worried at all when I decided to have my own children with her. For Bette Id do anything even risk my life. Now I dont know if I have, but I can feel in my guts that I am not going to be around for a long time. Oh Bette oh my poor, poor baby she will be absolutely devastated Daniel. Daniel was weeping in his sisters arms, he didnt want to lose her, and now how could he refuse her this, which could be the one and only request shell ever ask of him. Oh no god dont let it be her dying wish, oh no god please, I will do this for them but dont let her die Gooooood. Nat felt the turmoil that Daniel was going through she tried to comfort him but she was not able to do so effectively. How could she console him over her own probable demise?
Nat: Daniel stop it please stop my darling I am still here. Dont cry for me yet Daniel, please I want you to be strong, since Jack is not here; you are the man in the family. Daniel wiped his face and regained partially his composure, he was breaking inside but didnt want to aggravate the situation and make Nat feel any worse.
Daniel: Nat I will do this for you my little sister, only for you and I want to do it straight away if Bette is ready. We have no time to waste, and you have a lot of living to do. It is no time to die Nat but to live and love and be merry. You can call Bette to come and pick you up if you are ready, you can tell her to go to the pharmacy on her way and buy the sealed container for me. Nat jumped up and fell in Daniels arms hugging him and kissing him and thanking him.
Nat: Oh Daniel youve made me the happiest woman alive right now. Thank you, thank you, youll never regret this. Oh Bette is going to be thrilled, my god, she could get pregnant before I even have our baby. That is wonderful Daniel, thank you my dear wonderful brother, I couldnt ask for more.
Bette arrived at Daniels at about 7 in the evening his wife has taking the children out for a meal after school so they were not home yet. She rang the bell and Nat let her in.
Bette: Nat what is the matter? Have you been crying?
Nat: Its nothing I just got emotional when Daniel agreed to do this for us.
Bette: Do you mean that he agreed to be my donor? Oh my God Nat that is wonderful baby, where is he where is Daniel?
Nat: He is on the phone to a client ***** be out shortly.
Bette hugged Nat tightly and kissed her passionately and was overjoyed with the news.
Daniel walked in on them and said Bette are you taking advantage of my little sister? Bette and Nat burst out laughing and both of them embraced Daniel and showered him with kisses.
Bette: Thank you Daniel, you dont know how much this means to us. No one is going to find out, itll only be between us for, we dont want anyone get annoyed or angry we can do without all the hassle. Thank you again, here I have this for you when you are ready.
Bette handed the empty plastic container to Daniel and he disappeared with it.
Bette: Nat what did you say to him to convince him? I thought that hed never agree!!!!!!!!
Nat: Well I told him how much in love I am with my wife and how much I would like to see her getting fat and swollen and full in all the right places and.
Bette got hold of Nat and was tickling and teasing her and they started laughing and messing about. But Nat had to ask Bette an important question.
Nat: But Bette is it the right time of the month for you or do you have to wait?
Bette: Well Ive just had my cycle this month all I need to find out is if I am ovulating or not. I bought the kit when I was at the pharmacy. I will do the test when we go home and we can find out, itll only take a minute, if I am, then the rest is up to Daniel juniors to do the work. I hope they are good swimmers. Come here and give me a kiss, you can get me in the mood start from now, and who knows we might be making a baby tonight.
Daniel came back looking flushed and shy, he handed the container back to Bette averting her eyes and making small talk. Bette thanked him and took it of his hand and pushed it between Nats *****. They kissed him goodbye and left promising to let him know the outcome as soon as they find out.
Bette drove back, on their way she stopped at a petrol station. She had to find out, cant wait to get home. She got out of her car opened the door to Nat and got her out, she dragged her to the toilets with her and insisted on having the test done right there and then.
Nat: Bette you are completely mad, you are not going to do this here?
Bette: Yes I am, look Nat I cant wait I need to know. Just in case I am not, we can drive to the Cryon bank and leave the sample there for later day. Come on help me out here.
Nat: What do you want me to do exactly?
Bette: Oh yes I forgot you cant do anything to help me with this, ok sorry honey I am just too excited and eager to find out, but a little loving would be appreciated anyway.
Nat: You are driving me crazy darling, just get on with it, I want to find out too.
A minute later Bette was leaping up and down and squeezing Nat and kissing her and hugging her, the new was good she was ovulating and could possible be pregnant even before Nat has the baby.
Bette: lets make another baby, lets do it.

Bette remembered hearing those words before when Tina and her were trying for a baby, oh my God she has forgotten about Tina. She has not thought about her for a long time now, she has been very busy with Nat and her job and now this. She felt like she has betrayed her, but she needed to do this. Tina would be over the moon if she found out, I am sure she would. Bette was comforting herself and easing her conscience over this. She cant think of what happened nearly 3 years ago. She is happy and in love with Nat now and she wants to have a baby surly Tina would not begrudge her that?
Nat: Bette are you all right honey, what is the matter you look pale?
Bette: Nat I am fine really lets go home, come on we have a baby to make.
Bette and Nat left the toilets hand in hand got in their car and Bette drove home. Nat was still holding the bottle between her ***** and every now and then she would look at it and make sure it was snuggled in the warm safely.
She was so proud of Daniel and his precious contribution, and was proud of Bette too for wanting to create a baby of her own flesh and blood.
Bette got out of the car and opened the door to Nat and helped her out, she peeped at Nats bulging ***** with a twinkle in her eyes and kissed them gently. Still holding her hand she escorted her inside and locked the door behind them.
Bette woke up in the middle of the night feeling flushed and hot. Nats hand was resting on her breast she kicked the cover off her, took Nats hand and kissed it, and turned over to face her. She leaned over her and kissed her face whispering in her ear, Nat are you sleeping honey? Nat stirred and said no not really, it is very hot in here can you open a window or something darling? Bette got up and walked to the window and opened it a fraction to let the cool air in. She looked at the sky the moon was full and looked magnificent. She walked back to bed with a prance in her step she was feeling lighter and her mood was boosted. She leaned over Nat and kissed her ear. She has been feeling a lot excited lately, and was turned on just by a look or a whisper or a touch from Nat. She couldnt describe or understand the mood change she has been experiencing. And now she was in the mood for love. She sat back on her side of the bed, pulled the cover off and exposed Natashas pregnant body, she looked so ***** and inviting and Bette wanted to make love to her. The heat went to her head and she was melting. She got hold of the cover again and whisked it off and uncovered Nats body again. Nat was completely naked so was Bette and that drove her insane. Nats couldnt fight Bette back, she couldnt sleep either and now she was in the mood for love too.
Bette leaned over Nat and started kissing her passionately, Nat couldnt resist she started kissing her back with the same passion multiplied by lust. Bette: I am very concerned about you Nat you are definitely late unless we have miscalculated the days, but I am certain that you should have had the baby by now.

Bette was dumbfounded, she felt like an idiot, she has forgotten and now Nat had to remind her of their experiment few weeks ago. She leapt with joy, kissed Nat and ran to the bathroom to do the test. Nat waited patiently, she was nervous and anxious, and wanted to know as soon as possible. In the bathroom Bette couldnt contain or control herself she was jumping with joy she came out flying towards Nat. She got hold of her kissed her and cuddled her tenderly and whispered in her ear, my darling wife we are going to be a big family, I am going to be a mother to our second child and its going to be a girl, I can just feel it.
Nat held Bette tightly with tears in her eyes and said you are going to be a truly wonderful mom my wife I can see it in your eyes. I love you so much sweetheart and thank you for doing this you are marvellous and you keep amusing and amazing me over and over again.
Bette replied it is you who is marvellous and amazing my sweet without you I couldnt have been what I am now and what I am going to be, I am truly blessed because of you my dear, darling wife.
Now I think we have to sort you and our baby out. We need to go to the hospital and find out what is going on. Ill call Kit and the girls and ask them to follow us there in case we have the baby tonight. They are going to be thrilled. We will not tell them about my news yet, it will keep, but I will call Daniel and let him know if that is ok with you. Nat nodded her approval.
Bette and Nat were at the hospital when Kit appeared with the girls behind her. Shane wasnt there though she was busy with a very rich client, and couldnt make it but she sent her apologies to Nat and Bette and promised to make an appearance later on.
Kit: Bette what is going on, is Nat and the baby Ok?
Bette: Well we dont know yet the doctors are doing some tests on them right now.
Kit: How are you holding up, are you ok baby sister?
Bette: I am fine Kit I am only worried about my wife and the baby.
Alice: Honey dont worry I am sure everything is fine.
Dana: Yes I am sure it is fine Bette just hold on we are here for you.
Bette: Thanks you guys I really need you here with me.
The girls gathered around Bette kissed her and hugged her reassuring and supporting her. Few minutes later the doctor come out and told them that Nat will not be having the baby yet, at least not now or tonight. She was not dilated therefore was not ready to give birth yet, you can all go home to rest and wait. He took Bette on the side and explained the situation to her in details and told her that she has to keep a watchful eye on any change that might happen in the next 36 hours and to bring Nat back as soon as she feels anything at all. If nothing did happen then they will have to induce her to get the baby out to minimize any complications to mother and child. Bette was not happy with the news and wanted to keep Nat at the hospital just in case, but Kit convinced her to listen to the doctors orders and to comply with his instruction.
Bette thanked Kit and the girls for their support and love and asked them to go home and wait to hear from her. Nat came out from the examination room looked at Bette with heavy heart and told her to take her home.
Bettes heart sank to the sight of Nat and wanted to scream and protest but her voice was stuck in her throat. She held Natasha kissed her and escorted her back to her car and drove home.
