Chapter 72

Bette went searching for Jake. She found him sitting under a tree – guarding his PAMPER. As Bette approached him he growled at her. She growled back at him. She knew to keep her distance. She sat down under the tree – a comfortable distance from him.

Bette let out a heavy sigh as she looked over at Jake. “Ok buddy – we need to talk….my God – I’m losing my mind….” Jake looked back at Bette – dropping the Pamper from his mouth.

Jake let out a heavy sigh. “Speak Bette – speak!”

“Jakeman…I know something is bothering you….I wish you could tell me what it is…” Bette looked at Jake with concern.

Jake stared at Bette like she had three heads. She started out the conversation ok – with the growl and all but now she was acting like an adult and Jake didn’t like it – not one bit. In his little head Jake began explaining why he was so upset. “Ok Bette – here’s the deal – we were best buddies – but you’ve changed. All you want to do is talk to Tina’s – ummmm – disease or whatever it is. And you spend all of your time in the bedroom with her – you never take me in there. And when was the last time we went surfing? I can’t remember the last time. Don’t you love me anymore Bette?”

“Jake listen – pretty soon Tina is going to give birth to twins – ah – two babies…they are going to be your babies too…you’ll need to be kind of like a big brother and protect them…………You don’t understand a thing I’m saying – do you?”

Jake’s little mind was going again. “Ok Bette – remember I AM the superior being here – of course I understand you – the babies – the babies – are going to be more important than I am. That’s what you’re saying isn’t it?”

“Jake – even after the babies are born you’ll still be my little Jakeman…” Bette looked Jake in the eyes.

“Bette – don’t you know that you should never stare into a superior being’s eyes – it could be taken as a challenge – and you’ll lose…” Jake let out another sigh.

“Jake – hmmmmm- you know – maybe I haven’t spent enough time with you lately…”

“Now you’re talking Bette – keep going – you’re doing better…Hey, maybe Tina should have a litter of puppies and then there would be a bunch of superior beings running around the house. That might be tolerable Bette…”

Bette looked over at Jake. “I bet you think this is going to be like having puppies in the house don’t you?”

“Jeez Bette – haven’t you listened to anything I’ve said?” Jake plopped down on the ground and let out another sigh.

“Ok Jake – take that Pamper – do you know what that’s for?”

“I’m not stupid Bette. It’s the babies designated area – kind of like mine – but mine’s over there – wanna see me use the babies designated area?”

“Those are for the babies- you really need to leave them in the nursery.”

“What’s a nursery? Is that what you call that ridiculous room?”

Bette looked at Jake again. “Jake – bottom line….”

“Bottom line Bette…bottom line..what’s the bottom line?”

“Bottom line Jake – I still love you!”

“I still love you too Bette…” Jake stood up and took a flying leap onto Bette’s chest – knocking her over. He kissed her face. We’re talking serious tongue action!

“Jake…Jake..Jake……you little weirdo….keep your tongue out of my mouth please..Tina’ll get jealous…come on.” Jake continued to kiss Bette – his little tail wagging at a furious pace. “Hey buddy – maybe you need a playmate…what do you think?”

“You mean another little Min Pin – another superior being…someone I can really talk to..?”

“I’ll talk to Jackie and Tina and see what they think…can’t have you eating the twins or anything like that!” Bette smiled and raised her eyebrow! She felt a tiny, fleeting amount of guilt after making that comment. “God Jake – don’t tell anyone I said that – Tina will kill me….Ok? God – I AM losing my mind…”

Jake did his little happy dance. He spun in circles. “I’m getting my own baby – hoo hooo – my own baby…my own baby…boy or girl Bette? Bet you can’t answer that yet huh? Ok – I’ll wait. My own baby…my own…”

“Hey Jake – do you want to go surfing later?” Jake jumped on Bette again – kissing her. “Jeez Jake…enough…enough…surfing an hour after dinner…Deal man?”

Jake raised his paw and slapped Bette a high five…”Deal Bette – deal!”

“Ok – let’s go inside – and NO MORE PAMPERS – have I made myself clear?”

“Yeah …yeah…yeah Bette – that’s clear – crystal clear!”

“Ok buddy – let’s go…”

“Bette’s mine…Bette’s mine…hahaha! Mine…mine…mine!” Jake pranced as he followed Bette into the house.


“Are you crazy Bette? Another dog? Oh GOD! Another Min Pin?” Tina couldn’t believe what Bette was saying.

“I think it would be good for Jake…he needs a friend. Come on Baby … please. Mom thinks it’s a good idea…” Bette put her arms around Tina’s neck and kissed her gently. “Please Baby…come on…you can name the puppy…please.” Bette kissed Tina again.

Tina let out a heavy sigh. “I don’t know…with the babies coming…don’t you think it’ll be a bit much. I mean a little puppy – God Bette – it’ll be like having a third baby.” Tina looked into Bette’s eyes and then smiled. “Or maybe that would be a fourth …”

“Oh – thanks alot T. One day I’m old and the next I’m the fourth baby? I don’t know how many more shots my self esteem can take. Feel guilty now T? Hmmmmmm? So – is the answer yes???” Bette grinned at Tina.

“Ok – but just one more – we’re not starting a collection! Oh – and I think we should let Mary Grace name the puppy. She’s going to have alot of yuppie puppy sitting to do! She may as well pick the name.”

“Please don’t call me a yuppie…….” Bette looked at Tina – her eyes pleading.

Tina just shook her head. She could not believe that Bette had turned into such an easy mark for Jake and Mary Grace. And now it would be a puppy – and then the babies. Tina grabbed Bette’s hand and pulled her toward her. “You are such a sucker…I love you for that…and you ARE a yuppie – I already told you that.”

“Yeah?” Bette smiled at Tina.

“Yeah – yuppie sucker!” Tina squeezed Bette’s hand and then grabbed her around the waist and then gave her a hug.

“I’ll show you a yuppie sucker….if I’m a yuppie – you must be a yuppie too – and if I’m a sucker – you must be a SUCKEE.” Bette wagged her eyebrow at Tina.

“Oh God – I need to learn to keep my mouth shut…so……. maybe you can show me later huh?”

“Count on it….meet me – tonight – in the pool – nine sharp!”

“I’ll be there…clothes optional?”

“Ummmm – no – no clothes allowed!” Bette winked at Tina and smiled.


An hour after dinner Bette grabbed Jake’s surf board and life jacket. “Jake – let’s roll man! Surf’s up!!!” Jake came tearing into the kitchen. Bette put his life jacket on him and they were out the door. Tina and Jackie watched them from the kitchen window.

Jackie smiled as she watched Bette pull Jake around the pool. “She’s nuts – you do know that don’t you?”

Tina smiled. “Yup – she’s nuts alright…but incredibly adorable!”

“That she is…you know – I never knew Bette had this sensitive side. You’re very lucky to have her Tina.” Jackie put her arm around Tina’s shoulders. “Very lucky…”

“Yeah I know…very lucky….” Tina just grinned as she watched Bette playing with Jake. Bette suddenly stopped pulling the surf board and leaned over to Jake and whispered in his ear.

“Jake – guess what…? You get to have a friend….the warden has approved the plan! So how about a little girl Min Pin?? What do you think???”

Jake licked Bette’s face. “I guess you like the idea huh?”

Jake looked at Bette. “God Bette – sometimes you can be sooo thick! Yes I love the idea!!!”

“Ok then – tomorrow we start looking for your new friend Jake!”


Jake and Jackie made their exit to bed around 8:45 pm. Bette went out into the pool – no clothes – she waited for Tina. Bette rested her arms on the side of the pool. She stared up into the sky and studied the stars. She felt arms wrap around her.

“I don’t know that you should be wrapping your arms around me like that – my girlfriend might get really jealous.”

“You think so huh? So tell me about this girlfriend of yours – do I know her?”

“I think you might have met her. She’s this adorable, *****, pregnant blonde….she’s gorgeous.”

Tina moved her hands to Bette’s ***** and caressed her nipples. Bette swallowed hard. “So you think she’s gorgeous huh? Tell me more about her. Can you tell me more?”

“Well….she has these beautiful brown eyes…when she looks at me I just melt.” Bette closed her eyes and threw her head back so it was resting on Tina’s shoulder.

“Tell me how it feels when she touches you….” Tina continued to run her fingers over Bette’s *****.

“I don’t know if I can describe it…” Bette was having a difficult time speaking.

“Try…” Tina moved one of her hands down Bette’s tummy. “Try..”

“Well…when she touches me it….god…it feels like I’m being kissed by an angel…she tells me how my skin feels so soft – like satin…I can feel….I can feel how much she loves me when she touches me.”

“So tell me…how much does she love you?” Tina continued to stroke Bette’s nipples with her fingers as she moved her other hand to Bette’s shoulder and then began moving it slowly down her back.

“She loves me with her entire being…I know she loves me…with…every…everything she has…all of her…” Bette was struggling to speak….to explain.

Tina continued moving her hand down Bette’s back until she was able to slip it between her legs. As Tina entered her from behind, Bette let out a gasp. Tina began placing tender kisses all over Bette’s back – while she moved her fingers. “So tell me…does it feel like this when she touches you?”

“Yes…like this….”

“And…now…tell me what she does to you…how does she make you *****?”

“She does …she moves inside me…like that…and she tells me she loves me…that she wants me to ***** for her.”

“And do you ***** for her when she says those words to you?”

“Yes….I do…”

“I love you Bette…will you please ***** for me now?”

Bette’s body trembled as she contracted around Tina’s fingers. When Tina felt Bette relax she removed her fingers from her. “Bette…please turn around and look at me.”

Bette did as she was asked. She looked into Tina’s eyes. She kissed her and held her tight. “I love you Tina…please…I need you to know how very much I love you…”

“I know how much Baby…I know how very much…just hold me…”
