A Single Mom Meets Someone New Ch 113

“Gillian where are we going?” Skylar asked.

“There is something I want to show you.” Gillian said as they headed out of LA.

    “Where?” Skylar asked.

“Somewhere special.” Gillian answered with a smile.

After a 45 minute drive Gillian turned off of the major highway and onto a dirt road. Her jeep bounced over the dips. Eventually she pulled up to a large iron gate. Gillian rolled down her window and punched in the 8 digit code into the keypad. The gates opened slowly.

    “Well I’m lost.” Skylar said.

“Do remember when we were still togethers and we talked about where we wanted to build a house?” Gillian said.

“Yeah.” Skylar said. “I said in Mailbu or down in San Diego, and you said that you wanted a big house on the beach but in a private cove with awesome surf.”

Gillian smiled as so drove down a winding drive way surrounded by thick woods. The trees thinned out and Skylar could make out the shape of a large structure.

“Gillian what did you do?” Skylar asked.

“I started looking for the perfect property. It took awhile, but then I found this tract of land that had and old condemned house. The old man who owned was happy to sell it because he couldn’t afford the taxes on it anymore. I had the old house torn down and built a new one.” Gillian said as the pulled up in front of a very large house.

    “Gillian it’s beautiful.” Skylar said.

“This is my get away and you are the only one who knows about it.” Gillian got of the jeep.

    “Why me?” Skylar asked.

“Because even though this will never live here together it is still our house. The one we dreamed up that night.” Gillian said.

Skylar looked around at the house it was just as she had pictured it all those years ago.

    A couple weeks later…

Tina sat in the stadium parking lot waiting on Gillian’s practice end. She saw Grace pull up in Gillian’s Jeep and park on the curb next to the door. Tina figured Gillian would be coming out momentarily so she got out and leaned on her car. She was right Gillian came out with a group of other players. She looked exhausted. Tina watched as Gillian said good bye to her fellow players and headed over to the Jeep.

    1. Thanks for the update. I’m not sure how Tina and Bette could get through the ordeal they just experienced with the ‘open’ relationship. I feel that they still have some issues to solve more important than moving to new jobs, but that’s my perception. I’d like to see them do the counseling thing first before they move onto new jobs because if they don’t fix what’s broken in their relationships, they could move and fall apart again so what’s the point?

    2. Thanks so much for the update. They do have a big decision to make and I’m not sure they are ready to make it. I’m in total agreement with what bumsue said, “… what’s the point.” They must get the relationship right before anything else. Thanks for posting.
