Previously-

Once back at Tina’s place Tina decided it was time.  “Beka, you know we’re moving tomorrow after we close on our new house.”

“Yeah, I guess I’ll need your new address.”

“Well, yes but that’s not what I meant.  Bette and I were talking yesterday and we decided that you should move in with us.”

Rebekah just sat there amazed with a look of shock on her face and a tear once again running down her cheek.  Speechless.

Tina continued “Our new house has this beautiful little pool house that we think would be perfect for you and my little niece or nephew.”

Rebekah still speechless just sat there in awe that after all this time her big sister could hold such love for her.

“Beka are you okay?”

Finally able to say something, “Yeah, I am just astounded that you’d do this for us” as she put her hand on her not yet showing belly.

“Beka you’re my sister and you obviously need me or you wouldn’t have moved out here.  It really is the least I could do.”

Then for the umpteenth time in the last two days they hugged and cried together.

Chapter 7-

Rebekah was thinking that this couldn’t be true; I couldn’t truly be standing here with all of my belongings in a pool house owned by my sister.  The same sister I just found three days ago after a ten year separation.  Amazing. 

She thought back to ten years ago being banished up to her bedroom when Tina had said she had something to tell their parents in private.  She knew it wasn’t going to be good, she and Tina had always been close and nothing had been off limits previously.  This was something different.  Not good different either.  Not too long after she had been sent up to her room she heard the muted yelling from below.  First her father’s deep voice, then Tina’s voice then she could have sworn she heard their mother crying.  Then a door slamming and Tina’s rental car sped out of the drive and she was gone.

Rebekah teared up remembering the last time before three days ago that she had seen her sister.  It was painful to remember the last ten years without her sister, it had been rough.  A younger sister who had lost her older sister, confidant and hero.  Although Rebekah had to admit she had gotten somewhat used to not having Tina around and then had attempted at succeeding in life.  So she went to college pre-Med and then onto Medical School and now here she was ready to start her first year of residency.  She was just so thankful that she had moved out here to California and even more thankful that she had been brave enough to look up where Tina was.  Life was on a new and different route than she had expected and it was good.
