I’m sitting here and I’m finally able to actually think about what is happening. How can Ashley’s mom sue her? Is she legally allowed to sue her? Ashley stopped crying and we drove to the park that is close to my house. We are sitting on the swings and I can see the confusion etched on Ashley’s face. She is being tortured by her feelings. Anyone who knows Ashley Davies knows that she doesn’t handle her feelings very well if at all. This is tearing her up and she doesn’t know how to stop it. She thinks she hides it so well but all I have to do is look at her and I see how much it hurts her.

            I can’t sit here and watch her go through this torment anymore and not think of a way to help her. I need a little bit more information on what is going on with her mother and the will that is the source of all this craziness.

            “Ash, what exactly did the lawyer say?” I figured that is a good place to start.

            “I didn’t stay long enough to really hear all he had to say. He called me the other day and told me he wanted to discuss a few things about my father’s will. I figured that would come up soon since I’m going to turn eighteen soon. I agreed to meet with him and get it over with as soon as possible. I knew I’d get a good inheritance but I wasn’t really interested in how much money I’d get from my father’s death. I just wanted this all to go away. So I went there last night and we started talking about the will and he told me that my dad gave me all of his money. I was so shocked that he did that. I figured he’d give me a lot but I didn’t think he’d completely shut my mother out. I knew she would be pissed about it and I did not want to deal with that and then he looks at me and tells me he has bad news for me. He told me that as soon as I turn eighteen and inherit this money my mother is planning on suing me for her part of the money. As soon as he said that I ran out of there and went home and sat in my room all night and just cried.” Her face got this sheepish look on it and she started turning red before she continued. “I also threw some things in my room. There’s a big dent in my wall where I kind of punched it.”
