this song is not for you lovers – (Chapter: she sure can make em’ cry)
ASHLEY’S POV
“ Today sucked.” I say to myself thinking about the previous events. First I get love, which as soon as it came left, I got my head(heart?) played with, I have a sore throat and eyes from crying, the fact I CRIED. Now I have a headache and a stomachache. “Gawd Damnit!” I yelled grabbing for my toe that I just stubbed while trying to make my way to the couch. After cursing and rubbing my toe to semi-wellness, the couch no longer feels welcoming so I make my way to the bathroom for a shower.
The tile was cold on my feet, as was the air on the rest of my naked body. Upon seeing my reflection in the full-length mirror, I jumped back a little not recognizing it. My eyes had dark rings under them, my lips all chapped and bitten, tear trails stained on my cheeks. “You, Ashley, look like shit.” I told myself, a weak attempt at making the girl on the other side of the mirror laugh. It didn’t work
The marks left by you are clearly visible; I touch them and a surge of pain courses through my body at each. It’s hard but I force myself not to think of what it felt like when your lips were still there sucking and biting, or your fingers tugging and caressing.
“It was one girl Ashley, nothing to beat yourself up over. She doesn’t even want you.” My reflection told me cringing. “There are plenty more, even more beautiful, itching to get a taste of you.” The rings under the eyes were gone, lips glossed and shiny, my reflection told me.
“No, no one’s comes close to Spencer, I love her” I declare knowing this is true, but still feeling hurt. Since I love her I decided I would give her what she wanted, which had nothing to do with me.
“You do,” my reflection agreed. “But she doesn’t love you back.” The reflection said with true compassion in her eyes. “Move on, it’s what we do! Don’t bring feelings in, it costs too much.” She said shaking her head and looking away, trying to disregard the experienced feeling. She took a deep breath looked with a devilish grin “Now get your ass in the shower, get all dolled up, we’re going out tonight.” I turned away not saying a word, walked to the shower tail between my legs like an obedient dog.
