The Way I Loved You (Chapter Twenty-Five)
Ashley’s POV
“What’s wrong with this one?” I asked, spinning around in the middle of the living room of about the twentieth apartment we’d looked at that day. Spencer had rejected all of them so far and though I would give her whatever she wanted I was getting tired of walking around in apartments all day. Kyla had not been happy when we told her the news but she understood and decided that she and Aiden would just keep our apartment.
“It’s fine, it’s just not right for us.” She said with conviction as our real estate agent gazed longingly out the window of the loft. I wondered if he was contemplating suicide and I hoped that he wasn’t because it would suck to have to find a new one. Then again maybe if he would show us a good apartment then we wouldn’t have been driving around LA all day.
“Next?” I said, looking at Eric, the real estate agent. He tried to hide his small sigh as he started looking through his stack papers.
“I’m sorry, I just want it to be perfect,” Spencer said near my ear as we followed Eric out of the apartment.
“Don’t worry about it Spence, whatever you want is yours; even if we have to look at every free space in California.” I assured her, squeezing her hand. “Eric? Maybe we should start looking at houses now instead of apartments?” He nodded distractedly as we continued down the stairs and out into the fading sunlight of LA.
We looked at about three houses before we found it. I knew that Spencer wanted it as soon as we pulled up the driveway. I loved it too, as soon as I saw the adoration shining in her blue eyes. It was pretty big which surprised me because Spencer had said that she didn’t want a big house. This one was two stories tall and completely white. It was a Southern Plantation style house complete with pillars. The shudders were a bright blue and the door was painted a bright red. Its porch was huge and seemed to wrap all the way around the house. The house was set back from the road and hidden by a large fence. According to Eric it sat on a pretty good bit of land as well but I really didn’t care. So long as Spencer was happy I was happy.
