    Kyla and Spencer “find” the stranger

    It turned out that it was not her.

    Once Kyla saw that this person was not who they were looking for, they packed up their stuff and got back in the car to go down the street to the bus station. Kyla has heard from many at the shelter that they go and hang out at the station where they can make a little money and meet some friends. They pulled up and walked in, they were being watched by a guy in the corner, and he started to follow them around in the station. Just as he was walking up behind Spencer, someone came from the side and hit him with a bat. He was flung over to the bench and was knocked out. Spencer startled turned around to thank the man who helped her and to her surprise it was a woman. Kyla came over and noticed the clothing and looked at Spencer with a smile. The woman got her bat and she was going to leave but Spencer was not going to let her leave, not now when she could be "Jodie", she had to meet the woman who wrote such beautiful words to her deceased lover.

    "Hi, I am Spencer…Spencer Carlin, thank you so much for taking care of me like that. Most people would not even care. Let me buy you lunch to say thank you for saving me". The woman at first hesitated, but then gave in seeing that Spencer was very serious about it. She said, "You are quite welcome Ms. Carlin, my name is Jodie Adams. I just saw that he was watching the two of you and I had a feeling that he was up to no good".

    Spencer and Kyla looked at each other and raised eyebrows listening to Jodie’s articulate speech, not many homeless people can correspond like that. Spencer decided right then that Jodie was going to be her new best friend, what better person to have than someone who is already looking out for you. She was a nice looking woman, probably around 30 years old and such a beautiful smile that it was so captivating to Spencer that she didn’t want to take her eyes off of Jodie.

    After a few minutes, Kyla realized that Spencer was very smitten with their new found friend, "Well, why don’t we make it dinner for tonight because I need to get back to the shelter. Anyways, Spencer don’t you need to go home and see Ashley", Kyla said with much emphasis on her sisters name. After the comment Spencer broke her stare, "Oh, yes, you are right, I think we should make it for tonight Jodie, does that okay with you?". Yes, that is great actually perfect, as she was looking at Spencer with a glimmer in her eye. Kyla noticed that the two of them were actually infatuated with each other, "So I guess we will pick you up around 7pm to take you to dinner, where should we meet you, as she was stumbling over her words forgetting that this woman was homeless". Before Jodie could comment, Spencer spoke up and said, "No, Jodie you will go home with me and you are welcome to get ready at my apartment, if you want to." Almost like a demand in the form of a question, she had to calm down because for some reason her head was pounding and her heart felt like it was racing. Jodie replied to them both, "Oh, okay that sounds great Spencer thank you", as she too was stumbling over her words. Spencer smiled and the three of them left.
