    CHAPTER FORTY FOUR

     

    ASHLEY’S POV:

    I feel my heart slowly breaking. I can’t believe she’s gone. I looked through the crowd over and over again but I couldn’t find her. Principal Sanders comes up to me and says something, but I can’t hear a word he says. I hand him the microphone and walk out of the gym. I walk to the parking lot and drive home. I was thinking about going to the beach, but I felt more like crawling into a hole and dying. When I get up to my room, I open my door and I couldn’t believe what I saw. Spencer was sitting on my bed. She looked up at me and I could see her teary eyes.

    Ashley: Spencer?

    Spencer: Hi. (still crying a little)

    Ashley: What are you doing here? Are you okay?

    Spencer: Did you mean everything you said?

    Ashley: Yes. Spencer I-

    Before I can say another word Spencer jumps up off the bed and crashes her lips into mine. God it felt so good to touch her again. We quickly became lost in the kiss, not being able to get enough of one another. My hands reach her face and I feel the wetness on her cheeks from the tears. I continue our kiss, but softly wipe away the tears. Spencer gives me a few more soft kisses before she pulls away.

    Spencer is looking into Ashley’s eyes and caressing Ashley’s face. Ashley has her arm loosely wrapped around Spencer’s waist and Spencer’s arm are resting on Ashley’s shoulders.

    Spencer: I’m so sorry I walked out on you like that at the gym. I was just so scared and overwhelmed by everything.

    Ashley: Shh baby, it’s okay. I’m just glad you’re here now.

    Spencer: God, I can’t stop crying. I’m such a mess right now.

    I kiss away her tears and she finally smiles

    Ashley: You look beautiful. I love you so much.

    She smiles and gives me another soft kiss on the lips.

    Spencer: I love you too.

    My eyes shoot up to hers and I’m speechless.

    Ashley: Say that again.

    Spencer chuckles at Ashley’s reaction.

    Spencer: I’m in love with you Ash. I have been since the moment I saw you.
