The Agent – (Chapter: Lets Forget)

I woke up to an empty space beside me I glanced around the room and saw no sign of Spencer. I got up quickly and walked to the bathroom where I found her sitting on the floor across from the maintenance guy who was fast asleep.

She was rocking herself her arms wrapped tightly around her knees, the tears running freely down her cheeks. She glanced up at me, her voice soft,

"Are you going to kill him?"

I gulped my throat suddenly dry. I shook my head

"we’ll leave him here somebody should find him in a couple of hours but you and I we really need to get out of here"

she stood up sniffing while I moved closer to her, leaning over her I grabbed a toilet roll from above the toilet and handed it to her. She blew her nose and stayed there in the tiny bathroom staring at me. I felt my cheeks burn red, I avoided eye contact instead I bent down to examine the guy. I was in luck he had a cell phone, a cell phone with hardly any battery left but it would do for now.

I looked over at Spencer, she seemed to have calmed down a bit, “We need to go before he wakes up, get your stuff and meet me by the car. I have a phone call I need to make” I didn’t give her a chance to answer I quickly slipped the phone into my pocket and walked out of the hotel room.

I stood by the car, pacing. I needed to speak to Aiden to get more answers from him but I was nervous and afraid. There were so many unanswered questions floating around in my head, so much I wanted to know before dropping Spencer off, before the agency would find me and eliminate me. I let out a deep sigh and dialled Aiden’s number.

"Can you make this line secure?" I spoke fast, Spencer would be out any second and I didn’t want her to hear this conversation.

"Ash is that you?" he called me Ash. I was no longer an agent.

"Yes. I need more answers Aiden" He lowered his voice,

"If I get caught helping you they’ll kill me"
