Super duper crime fighting good two shoes and her badass master criminal. – (Chapter: Chapter Three)

Chelsea is talking my ear off about her newest hunk of burning love. I could care less, but I nod and say all the appropriate responses. I’m too busy picturing Spencer Carlin’s picture in my head. How can a girl that looks that innocent commit so many crimes?

I guess I’ll find out soon enough.

We arrived at the restaurant, and Madison parked the car in the back of the building.
I walked through the parking lot and into the restaurant. Now, we are off to set up our equipment.

    ***

Glen drove up to the front of the restaurant and looked at Spencer.

    “Do I really have to?”

“Yes. Now go, you don’t want to be late.”

“If I hate this, you’re dead.”

    “You wouldn’t hurt me.”

    Spencer glared at Glen.

    “You wouldn’t, right?”

Spencer stepped out of the blue Cadillac, “Come pick me up in an hour.”

    “Okay.”

Spencer started walking towards the entrance; she turns around and bends down to look through the car window, “how come I can hold the whole word hostage but I’m scared to go on one stupid blind date

“Love is harder than crime. Spencer, knock em dead,” Glen shifts the car to drive. “Oh, but not really.”

“Oh, look!” Madison pointed to a magazine picture, “Paula is looking for a Special Ops. Intern.”

“Mmhmm,” I looked down from a seat hanging 40 feet off the ground.

“Come on Ash, this is a great opportunity. After graduation, we will have the chance to pick any assignment we want.”

“I would rather, uh, go to a music school in Barcelona.”

Kyla sat up quickly, “There she is.”

I looked down at Spencer through my binoculars, “Wow.”

    “What?” Madison snatched the binoculars..

    “She’s real.”

Spencer looked at Sherry, “So, you’re an assassin?”

“Ya, but it’s only a hobby.”

Spence opened her mouth to reply but was interrupted by the waiter.

    ***

Kyla leaned over and whispered in my ear, “I have those in tope.”

    “What are you talking about?”

“I have her shoes in tope.”

I gave Kyla a weird look, “Where’d you get those?”

    ***

“What would you like to drink?” asked the waiter.

“I want a glass of wine,” said Sherry.

“Well, I’m not much of a drinker, so I’ll have…”
