    “Just tell me why Ash, please just tell me. I’ll make it right, I swear.”

    CHAPTER ELEVEN

     

    “Are you worth it, Spencer Marie Carlin?”

     

    Spencer copied Ashley’s smile, “That’s up for you to decide, Ashley Nicole Davies.” Spencer leaned in a little closer so their noses were touching. The two girls looked each other in the eyes as Ashley brought her hand to the back of Spencer’s neck. Spencer closed her eyes and came the rest of the way to Ashley’s lips and kissed her tenderly. The girls slowly pulled away and opened their eyes to look at one another again. “Spence… I don’t think I can do this…”

     

    Spencer’s eyes changed from happiness, to sadness, to confusion. She and Ashley finally kissed, finally showed each other that feelings ran deeper than friendship… and then it was over. “Why not? Just tell me why Ash, please just tell me. I’ll make it right, I swear.” Spencer had tears filling in her eyes, she was about to lose the most important person in her life… again.

     

    Ashley shook her head. “Because Spencer, how can I really trust you? I still can’t forget what happened. I don’t hold it against you, but I just can’t forget it. You hurt me, so badly, and I just can’t help but worry that it might just happen again. Spencer… you have no idea how long I’ve wanted to just be with you… but I can’t, not now, not like this.” Spencer sat up and got off the bed. She could feel the tears spilling over and crawling down her face in big globs. “Fine Ashley… not now… but someday… someday we’ll be together and we’ll be happy. I promise you, Ashley… someday.” Spencer left the room and Ashley fell back on the bed crying.

     

    It was too overwhelming for Ashley. First learning that Natalie really didn’t want to even try to spend the rest of her life with Ashley, and then kissing Spencer, and then letting Spencer go. It was like a dream to her… nothing staying the same, everything constantly changing until she either got what she wanted in the end… or until she failed and came crashing back into reality.

     

    What am I doing? I can’t fall back into loving Spencer… not again. I just can’t help it. Those blue eyes, amazing smile, such delicate, gorgeous blond flowing hair… and that body! GOD I can just die seeing her. *sigh*
