ASHLEY’S P.O.V.
We’ve been home for a few hours now and I still haven’t said anything to Spencer. I’m in my room, lying on my bed listening to my iPod and reading a magazine. I look over the magazine to and see Spencer standing at the foot of my bed talking. I drop the magazine to my lap and she sees I have my ear pods in. I pull the left ear bud out.
Spencer: “You had those in the whole time?” She asks defeated. I just shrug and nod.
Spencer: “So you’re still not talking to me?” I smirk and shake my head no. She sighs and looks at me sadly.
Spencer: “Ok…well I was saying I was sorry, but you were listening to your music. I’ll just go.” She says, then leaves my room.
Ugh! She does that so well. She knows just how to make me feel guilty, when I wasn’t even angry with her. I get up and go to talk to her. I’m on my way to Spencer’s room when my mom stops me in the hall.
Christine: “Ashley, I need to talk to you.” She says seriously, making me nervous. Mark walks out of my moms room and I contort my face.
Mark: “I’ll leave you two alone to talk.” He smiles at my mom and I.
Ashley: “Thanks.” I say in a sarcastically annoyed tone. He kisses my mom and I gag. Then he walks down the steps.
Christine: “Lets go in my room.”
Ashley: “Mom I was going to talk to Spe-” She cuts me off.
Christine: “This is really important.” She says in a calm yet serious tone. I nod and she leads me into her room.
She sits on her bed. I decide not to, for reasons I’d rather not mention. So I just sit in this chair she has in her room across from her bed. I sit there looking at her, waiting for her to tell me whatever this is that’s so important. She finally looks up at me.
Christine: “Mark and I…we’re getting married.” I chuckle in disbelief.
Ashley: “What?” I ask shocked.
Christine: “Mark proposed to me and I said yes.”
Ashley: “Your kidding right? Am I being Punk’d?”
Christine: “What?” She says confused. I look around the room.

you’re right i didn’t see that coming, ashley isn’t going to make it easy on her mom but i agree she shouldn’t, that isn’t right but she’s just a ‘kid’ gosh parents sometimes never think haha pms
