Saving Grave. – (Chapter: Regrets And Promises.)

    Spencer’s POV.

Two years had passed since the court date, and I couldn’t believe that it had gone so fast.  Aiden’s father had actually left them alone.  It seems like he really just wanted to piss off Ashley to start out with.  Aiden is now twelve years old.  Yes, I said it.  I can’t believe that.  To say that things have been normal with me and Ashley would be the biggest understatement of my life.  She’s insane, and I can say that because I love her.  About a year ago, I was really questioning my relationship with Ashley.  I mean, things were at a really rocky spot.  I was just falling out of love with her, and I honestly didn’t know why.  There really wasn’t a reason.  I’ll never forget what she did when she heard me telling me Mom that I thought I was going to end it.

"I just don’t know Mom.  I want her.  I do.  It sucks because I want to love her, and I don’t have a reason why I shouldn’t love her."  I said with a sigh.

"Well, I can’t tell you what to do here Spence.  You can talk to her, or you can just let her walk out of your live.  If you do though, you might regret it."  Mom had said.

"I know."  Then, that’s when it happened.  I turned around to see the most hurt expression I’d ever seen on someone’s face.  She was absolutely heartbroken, and my heart broke when I saw it.  A tear fell down her face, and she left the house.  I ran after her before she could get in the car.

"Ash, listen, please."  I had begged.

"You can’t really leave me, right?  Spence, you’re the reason I get up in the morning.  I just don’t get it."  She said with tears running down her face.

"I don’t get it either, Ash."  That was all I said.  She got in the car, and she drove off.  I honestly thought that this was the end of us, and it hurt so badly.  I knew right then and there that I was in love with her, and that I needed her.  It sure is a shame that you realize that when the person is gone.
