    Spencers Feels the Guilt, and Paula, well, she’s got a secret BUT SHHHHHHH DON’T TELL!

    Spencer’s POV – Confrontation With Her Cousin

     

    I can barely look at her. Her eyes are watery, red and puffy, so I know she has been crying. She sits down and doesn’t look at me, just puts her head down and sobs a little, then looks to the ceiling. "I pushed you into this." She whispers.

    "I know." The anger is evident in my voice and I can’t help it.

    "I’m sorry it turned out like this, I didn’t think anything like this could happen."

    "She was trying to kill herself with alcohol wasn’t she?"

    "That was…. different……" she sighs "But then again not. Hurting yourself is hurting yourself and it can escalate once you figure out there’s easier ways, sometimes funner to some people. I’m sorry, I just wasn’t thinking and I guess I should have."

    "You guess? Last night was….. the best night of my entire life! The best! And then……. and then Karma comes and kicks me in the ass. It comes and it is taking my girlfriend away!"

    "I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean for this shit to happen. I didn’t think-"

    "No you didn’t listen to me when I told you that I didn’t want to."

    "Don’t blame this all on me! You decided to go through with it, YOU Spencer."

    "I don’t want to talk about this. I’m just going to sit here and wait for Ben."

    "Right, cause sitting here and sulking is good. Talk about it, scream about it, you have the right."

    "Don’t shrink me."

    "I’m not a shrink."

    "Aren’t they all the same cous," I spit as an insult.

    "Cousin? Yeah, I am. But I am also your elder and I expect to be treated with respect."

    "Fine, I’ll treat you with the respect a murderer deserves, how about that."

    She stares at me for a minute, two silent tears spilling from her eyes and sliding down her face. I watch her closely as she wipes them away and the guilt sets in. She’s right, it’s not all her fault and technically it’s not our faults period. Ashley had a choice, cause there’s always a choice. No matter what you do, there’s a choice. She stands up slowly, clearing her throat.
