Opposites – (Chapter: 15)
Cradling her, Ashley went on a slow exploration of Spencer’s mouth. For the moment she enjoyed the sense of total domination. If they continued, she knew she would begin her own demands. Then it would be power for power. The knowledge excited her. Still, she laughed against Spencer’s lips. There was time. A lifetime. ”You awake yet?" she asked her as she ran a hand lightly over Spencer’s breast.
"Mmm-hmm."
"Good. Let’s go." After setting her on her feet, Ashley gave Spencer’s bottom a friendly pat.
"I’ll get you for that," Spencer promised. Needs stirred inside her, not quite under control.
"I certainly hope so." With an easy smile Ashley slipped an arm around Spencer’s waist. "You need to work on your backhand volley," she began as they walked from the room.
Insulted, Spencer tossed her head back. "What are you talking about?"
"If you’d shorten your swing a bit more—"
"Shorten your own swing," Spencer retorted. "And while you’re at it," she continued, "you weren’t exactly Miss Speed yesterday."
"Gotta save something for the finals."
Spencer snorted as she punched the elevator button. "Your conceit never wavers."
"Confidence," Ashley contradicted. She liked seeing Spencer this way—relaxed, but ready to laugh or to slap back. Briefly she wondered if Spencer realized she was even more beautiful when she forgot caution. "What about breakfast?"
"What about it?"
"Want to grab some eggs after practice?"
Spencer slid her eyes to Ashley’s as the doors opened. "Is that your best offer?"
Ashley lifted a brow as she followed her into the elevator. Spencer exchanged a polite nod with a middle-aged couple in tweed.
"Maybe you’d like to take up where we left off last night?" Ashley lounged against an elevator wall as Spencer gaped at her. "What did you say your name was again?"
Spencer could feel two pairs of shocked and interested eyes boring into her back. "Missy," she replied, allowing a trace of cockney to color her voice. "Will you spring for champagne again, Miss Davies? It was ever so good."
Ashley recognized the light of challenge in Spencer’s eyes and grinned. "So were you, sweetie."
When the doors opened to the lobby, the older couple moved out reluctantly. Spencer punched Ashley in the arm before she followed.
