Nothing But A Heartache – (Chapter: Guess Who?)

    Nothing But A Heartache

    Chapter Seven

    ASHLEY’S POV:

I stood their frozen unable to move. I didn’t think I would ever see he him again. It’s been three years. It may not seem like a long time, but it felt like an eternity to me.

    ???: Hey Ash. Happy Birthday.

    Ashley: Aiden.

    Aiden: Surprise.

Aiden puts his hands in his pockets and tries to calm his nerves.

Ashley: What are you-…uh…when did you-

I’m still in shock, I don’t know what to say. Aiden and I were best friends all through high school. He was going to be professional basketball player, everyone knew it. He planned to go to college first and play for a few years. When he got a scholarship to USC it was the happiest I’ve ever seen him. Things turn upside down, though, during his first game at USC when he tore his ACL.

He had to have surgery and the doctors told him he couldn’t play basketball any more. He went back to school but attended class less and less. I tried to be there for him as much as I could but he kept shutting me out. He started drinking a lot and one night I caught him with drugs in his room. We had a big fight and I told him it wasn’t going to solve his problems. I thought I had gotten through to him but I was wrong.

He kept using for the next six months and I kept telling him to get help. He started lying to me and even stole money from me. It killed me to slowly loose my best friend. I had to fight for him though. I looked up some rehab centers and told him I would pay for any expenses. One night I caught him using heroin and I couldn’t take it any more.

I found his stash and flushed it down the toilet. He was really pissed at me and we got into a huge fight. I told him I couldn’t watch him destroy his life like this anymore. He told me to get out of his life and to stay out of it. So that’s what I did. I walk out his room that night and never saw him again, until now.

    1. I so didn’t think it was Aiden who walked up, but then again it’s either him or Kyla who interrupt Spashley moments. I hope he doesn’t get in between the girls. Ashley needs to learn to trust Spencer. PMASAP.
