    The day they’ve both been waiting for.

    “Are you ok?”

    “Yeah, I’m fine. I just need to breathe or something, you know? I feel like…I don’t know, like I’m watching myself do this…like I’m pretending to be someone else and I have no idea how to fake it,” Ashley said, pacing back and forth.

    “Well, it’s you…and it’s happening, and it’s real. And you really need to take some deep breaths and calm down,” Aiden said, leading her to the gaudy, overstuffed recliner in the far corner of the room. They sat together in one of the many backrooms of the massive church, Aiden’s hand on her shoulder for necessary support and Ashley clutching the piece of paper that contained her last-minute vows.

    “I know, but it just doesn’t feel like it. I can’t believe I’m here…like, in this room or that this is really happening. I just can’t wrap my head around it.”

    “Well, start wrapping because in five minutes you’re going to be walking down that aisle and then there’s no turning back.”

    “Aiden, don’t you get it? I don’t want to turn back! I’m finally talking the next step with the love of my life and it feels so good and so right that I couldn’t even begin to explain it to you.”

    “Then I don’t get it. What’s the problem?”

    “It’s…it’s…”

    “Come on, Ashley. You know you can tell me anything.”

    “It’s this. Here,” Ashley replied, thrusting the wrinkled piece of paper in his face. 

    “Your vows?”

    “Read them.”

    Aiden looked at her a moment longer before grabbing the paper and reading each word of Ashley’s vows slowly and carefully, so as not to miss anything. A minute later he placed them on Ashley’s lap and shook his head, “I don’t know, Ash…this doesn’t even sound like you.”

    “I know, right? What am I going to do, Aiden? I’m getting married in,” Ashley glanced at the clock hanging from the wall, “ok, in three minutes. I’m absolutely fucked.”

    “When did you write these?”

    “This morning, and before you say anything, I’ve been trying to write them for days…I just drew a blank. I’m not good at stuff like this.”

    “Well, you don’t exactly have a lot of time, Ash. It looks like you might have to get up there and wing it.”

    17. So beautiful. I loved how nervous ashley was. It was so sweet. And I thought it was so her to say “fucking” in her vows in the church in front of the minister. You just captured her essence as they say. lol. Can’t wait for the reception… update soon.

    19. OMG, those were the most breathtaking and touching vows I’ve ever heard…straight from the heart. After all these years Spencer and Ashley are finally married now that is beautiful! Love this story…one of my favorites! PMS – – Another words please don’t make us wait long for the update…. :)
