As Alexis was about to start reading Ashton’s cell phone went off. Alexis and A.J. glare at it and Alexis says, “Let it ring. You’re busy.”
“Oh come on, Alex. It might be important.” Ashton says as she picks up the phone.
“Hello”
“Ashton, It’s Carrie. I-I n-need you.” Carrie says sobbing
“Carrie what’s wrong?” Ashton asks concerned
“I caught Jake in bed with another woman.” Carrie croaks out
“Where are you?”
“I’m at home. I kicked him out.”
“Alright, stay put. I’ll be right there.”
“Thanks, bye.”
“Bye”
As Ashton hangs up the phone she notices both her siblings are glaring at her.
“You’re leaving?” A.J. asks annoyed
“She’s my best friend and she needs me.” Ashton says quietly
“We need you!” Alexis snaps
“Look, I’m sorry. I didn’t plan this. Why don’t you guys just hang out here and we’ll do this some other time? Or you guys can start reading without me?” Ashton suggests
“Oh no, we’re going to do this tonight. Together.” Alexis says firmly
“But I don’t know when I’m going to be back.” Ashton argues
“Oh yes you do. What time is it A.J.?” Alexis says
“It’s 8:30 pm. Why?” A.J. says
“Ashton you have till 11 pm to solve your friends problem. I don’t care how you do it but you get back here by 11 pm.” Alexis says
“But Alex, I don’t know how long this going to take? I might have to spend the night.” Ashton argues
“That’s not our problem. You get back here by 11 pm or we’re going to drag you back.” Alexis says with conviction
“Drag me back? You don’t even know where I’m going?” Ashton scoffs
“You’re going to go see Carrie, right?”
“Yeah.”
“I know where she lives. Remember, last time I visited you took me to her place. So I know where she lives.” Alexis says confidently
Ashton just stares at her sister trying to figure out if she’s bluffing. The look in her eyes left no doubt that she would do exactly what she said. Ashton can’t help but think, damn, but she’s determined to do this tonight.
“Alright. I’ll be back by 11 pm” Ashton says defeated as she’s getting up to go change
“Good.” Alexis says triumphantly

For some reason I find that a bit…creepy, them standing in the shadows watching. But I can’t wait to see what happens next so…PMASAP!!!!!!!!!
