Ch.2

Spencer’s POV:

        I woke up with a huge migraine. “Uhhh…” I groaned, turning over on my side, clutching my head. Did I drink last night? Or was I hit by a sledgehammer on the head? Nah, I’m not feeling barf-y enough to be having a hangover. That means I must’ve run into a wall or something. The red numbers of my clock glared 1:50 P.M. at me angrily. “SHIT!” I yelled, scrambling up to my feet. I ignored the massive increase in pain to my head as the blood rushed to it. I was having my biochemistry finals today! If I didn’t show up, I was going to have to repeat the damn class! I gaped in horror as I did a double take and saw a huge bruise on my forehead. What the hell had I been doing last night? No time to think right now, I had to get to that class-and FAST.

      I ran across the campus-1:55. OH NO. I better make it, or else. I sprinted as fast as I could, cutting across one of the fountains. Suddenly I ran into someone. “Omph!” Actually, I should say that I ran into a brick wall. I dropped my bag in the collision. “Ohh…” Now that migraine had evolved into a fracture, I bet, judging from the amazing shockwaves of pain radiating from my head. “I’m so sorry…clumsy me…” I said, apologizing quickly. I looked up, surprised that the brick wall of muscle I had run into wasn’t some manly hulk- but an extremely well built girl! I gaped at her. She had a strong jaw, soft, brown eyes, conveying loneliness, golden brown tresses, and rippling muscles practically. Well not the gross rippling muscles of those dumb jocks you see. She was skinny, yet you could see she was buff. You could see the slight play of her muscles as she stretched her hadn out to me to pull me up. If any could look hot in those boring campus guard uniforms, it had to be her. She gently pulled me up to my feet with ease. It was as if she had shot millions of volts into my body; I was left tingling from her touch. “It’s okay.” She said softly. I was zoned out. She was so young for a campus guard- she couldn’t be older than me at all! I peered at her closely. There was something about this girl… like I’d seen her somewhere before. Déjà vu? I felt like I’d seen her somewhere before. “Here’s your bag.” She said, kindly picking it off the ground for me. I kept trying to figure out where I’d seen her; don’t you ever meet those people where you’ve sworn you saw them somewhere before but just can’t figure out where? “Hello?” she asked again, waving a hand in front of my face. “Huh? What? Oh thanks so much, um…Elizabeth.” I said, peering at her name tag. She laughed, smiling at me. Okay, I so know this girl from somewhere. That smile. “You can call me Ash.” She said, beaming. “And you are?” “Spencer. Spencer Carlin.” I said, tilting my head as I tried to figure this girl out. “Have I seen you somewhere before?” I asked curiously. “Of course you have. I work here, around the campus.” She said, covering her mouth as she laughed at me a little. I blushed. How stupid of me; she’s a campus guard, moron. I thought to myself. I just came off as a classic dumb blonde. She was hot. Was as all I could think of as I looked back at her dreamily. She was one hot, young, buff, and friendly campus guard. I suddenly saw my biochemistry class from across the campus. “OH SHIT! I really gotta go. I’ll never make it for my final!” I yelled desperately. The campus was like a football field away, and the professor was already closing the door!
