Los Angeles Is No Place For Lovers – (Chapter: One- Tiny Vessels)

Los Angeles Is No Place For Lovers
    Chapter One: Tiny Vessels

I am pressed up close against a beautiful stranger in the back of my Mercedes Benz. Our breath is fogging up the windows, and the sound of skin on leather is the only thing that can be heard over my stereo. Although my hands are fumbling so busily against her clothes, my head is elsewhere, listening to the lyrics of the song that fits my situation all too well.

This is the moment that you know
That you told her that you loved her but you don’t.
You touch her skin and then you think
That she is beautiful but she don’t mean a thing to me.
Yeah, she is beautiful but she don’t mean a thing to me.

Things are getting more and more heated between me and her. The soft moans and groans are such a familiar sound to me, yet they feel so hollow. How something can feel so good yet I can be so numb is astounding. Of course I haven’t really been able to feel since she left, and I am slowly growing accustomed to this sensation of infinite emptiness.

I spent two weeks in Silverlake
The California sun cascading down my face
There was a girl with light brown streaks
And she was beautiful but she didn’t mean a thing to me.
Yeah she was beautiful but she didn’t mean a thing to me.

My lips make a path down her neck, relishing in the soft skin as they work over the delicate bones of the collar bone. I am enjoying feeling her writhe beneath me, begging me to move faster. It is strange how much I like being needed, to feel her desperately pulling my hips into hers with both hands. We are at a place where common thought is replaced with primal need, and delicate touches succumb to fevered pawing.

Wanted to believe in all the words that I was speaking
As we moved together in the dark
And all the friends that I was telling
    And all the playful misspellings
And every bite I gave you left a mark

At some point we must have switched positions, because now it is my bare back pressed against the sticky leather and she is above me. I don’t like it. The feeling of losing control has always made me panic, and since she left I can’t even stand it for a second. She looks surprised when I flip her over, but I still any objections with my lips on her mouth. Now is not a time for words, or love, or any of that other mushy crap, now is a time for teeth, nails, gasps and skin.

    1. wow….that was just wow….i would love to know what happened between the two of them because it seems they are both miserable…..this was so angsty and sad, but i freaking love it…can’t wait to read more…pms

    2. BRAVO! Your writing never ceases to amaze me. Words are your canvas, and you, my friend, paint them with an elegant grace that only gifted writers possess. Favorite lines: There is no sensible thought, after you have been left by Spencer Carlin, only a foggy daze that leaves you stunned and confused. Your life becomes like watching the television on mute, with the pictures and the mouths moving, but nothing seeming to come together and make sense. Please continue with this storyline…it’s awesome!
