Ashley’s POV

"I love you." Was the last thing she said before falling asleep in my arms. I decided that I better get her home and in bed before her parents find out that she snuck out at 1 am with her girlfriend. So I pick her up like a baby, she stirs a little but she quickly relaxes again. I carry her to my car and put her in the front seat. When we get to her house I sneak in the same way she snuck out and carry her up that stairs to her room. I tuck her into her bed and lean down, kiss her softly on the forehead and say "I love you more than you’ll ever know, Spence." and I leave her a note and quietly sneak back out and go back to my house.

When I get home I go to check on Kyla, but when I get to her room, I find it empty. Where is she?! Oh, my gosh, I just remebered that when I left to see Spencer, I left the door unlocked. Oh, my God, somebody could have kidnapped her. I check the whole house and don’t find her anywhere. Jst as I was about to call the police at 3am, in walks Kyla.

"Kyla, where the hell have you been?!" I shout

"Calm down Ash, I was out with some friends."

"Well you could tell me when you leave in the middle of the night!"

"Oh, you’re telling me not to leave in the middle of the night, I know that you left at midnight, and I KNOW you went to see Spencer!"

"That is so different Kyla, I’m 16, you’re only 14!"

"So is Spencer!! God, Ashley, you are such a hypocrite!" Kyla yelled as she stormed up to her room and slammed the door. Oh, great, now she’s mad at me. We haven’t really fought ever since our dad died.

"Kyla." I call as I knock on her door, which she locked.

"Go away, Ashley."

"Kyla please let me in, I don’t want to fight with you." I pleaded. SHe finally gave in and she opened the door.

"Fine, you want to talk, come in and talk."

"Okay, Kyla, I’m sorry that blew up at you, it’s just, I’m your big sister and I want to make sure that you’re always safe."

"Why is it okay for you to leave in the middle of the night without telling me, but when I do it, you act like I robbed a bank or something?"

"I don’t know, I just, it’s just that I worry about you, Ky."

"Why?" She asked me.

"I don’t know, just ever since dad died, and we both know that mom isn’t excactly Mom of the Year, I just feel like if I don’t overprotect you, something’s gonna happen, and I would feel terrible if I lost you, you’re all I have left, Kyla."

"I’m sorry Ash, I didn’t realize that I made you worry, I just, I don’t know, you and Spencer have been hanging out a lot lately, and when I hang out with you guys, I guess I just kinda feel like a third wheel."

"Oh, my gosh Kyla, Spencer’s your best friend and I’m your sister, you’re not the third wheel, I love you and Spencer loves you."

"Yeah and you guys love each other."

"Yes, but, if you really feel that way, why don’t you ever bring Aiden along?"

"First of all, Aiden is a total airhead, and second of all I don’t think Aiden’s really my TYPE, if you know what I mean." SHe said with a wink, oh my gosh I would have never thought that Kyla was…gay!

"So you mean you’re, you know."

"Yeah. I am, you know." SHe said laughing at my speechlessness.

"Oh, my God, come here baby sister, I’m so proud!" I said while giving her a hug and fake crying.
