    Days had passed, Spencer and Ashley were still not talking, and to avoid conflict, no one else would talk to them at school. It was hard trying to avoid each other at school, especially since they had some classes together. Today Spencer was walking down the hallway and she had an arm full of books, she had dropped her pencil in the middle of the hallway and bent down to pick it up when someone bumped into her and knocked all of her books out of her hand.

    Ashley: “Oh, sorry.”

    Spencer: “That’s okay.” Ashley she looked up to see Spencer.

    Ashley: “Oh, hey.” she said softly

    Spencer: “Hi.” she said meekly

    Ashley: “Seems like we’re always running into each other huh?” she chuckled. Spencer smiled and began picking up her books. “Here let me help you with that.”

    Spencer: “No, that’s ok.”

    Ashley: “No, it’s fine. I want to help.” she helped Spencer pick up her books and held them. “Well…I guess I should give you these and let you get to class.” Spencer hesitantly grinned and nodded. Ashley handed her the books and turned to walk away. Spencer began to walk away. But turned around.

    Spencer: “I’ve really missed…” Spencer paused. Ashley turned around and looked at Spencer. “…I’ve missed you. I miss talking to you…” They slowly walked towards each other “…and hanging out with you…and just…being with you.” They were standing face to face now.

    Ashley: “I’m right here Spencer.”

    Spencer: “You know what I mean.”

    Ashley: “Then lets…hang out?” Spencer smiled and nodded. “Sit with me today at lunch.”

    Spencer: “Ok.”

    Ashley: “Want me to walk you to class?”

    Spencer: “I’d love that.”

    On the way to class they made idle chit chat, then Spencer decided to bring up the bad memory.

    Spencer: “Just so you know ash…Jen and I…”

    Ashley: “If you’re dating I really don’t care.” It was a lie, but Ashley didn’t want to hear anything about Spencer being with Jen.

    Spencer: “No, you didn’t even let me finish.”

    Ashley: “I’m sorry…go ahead.”

    Spencer: “Jen and I…we never did anything. I me we did, but…the furthest we went was kissing.” Ashley visibly cringed at the thought of the two kissing, but she was a bit relieved it didn’t go further.
