From the Beginning – (Chapter: Chapter 20: Knowing)

The place was packed with more students than should have been hitting the club in the middle of the week, but people were still trying to get into the school swing of things and there was a hot new band playing that night.

Spencer surveyed her surroundings, looking for signs of either of her brothers. She didn’t much care to see Glen, but it would be of some comfort if Clay made an appearance. She could see the possibility as he had just started seeing a new girl, Chealsy. She thought this would be the place to take her on a night like tonight.

Despite the change of venue and the excitement of the crowd spencer found herself drifting back to the kitchen table and the words she never believed her mother would say to her. It echoed over the sound of the music.

"Ash, lets get drinks" Aiden pointed towards the booth as the two girls headed toward the bar. She was hoping the alcohol would drown the memory and she would once again be living at home with her family. Spencer knew the only way that could happen was if her mother could accept her and her relationship with Ashley.

She could feel a connection between them, often finding herself swept up just by looking into her dark eyes. A warmth ran through her every time they touched, piercing her heart. In many ways, Ashley scared her.

She was petritfied of the way she felt when she was with her. The way she ached to touch her, yearned to be with her.

Spencer sipped on one of the two drinks she was holding and leaned back against the bar, glancing over as Ashley leaned over to order over the music. She felt her heart skip a beat as Ashley smiled back at her.

Spencer slid her back farther down the bar to whisper in Ashley’s ear, "So, how long we planning to stay here?" She leaned back, biting her bottom lip slightly and widening her eyes at her.

Ashley grabbed her drink and latched on to Spencer’s hand, mouthing, "not too long."

They fell into the booth beside Aiden who had his arm around the girl of the week.

Ashley smiled at Spencer, who had managed to down the first of the two drinks between the bar and the booth.

    1. Someone needs to bitch slap Glen the Ass! I loved how Spencer took a stand against her brother and let him know that he is the one who caused the conflict in the family. Wonderful update. PMS
