Forever is Cliche – (Chapter: All I Need Is One Shot)
Spencer POV:
After talking to Ashley for a while, I started to really like her. It wasnt the kind of "like" that I’d felt towards other girls, either. It was more of a wow-I-really-want-to-get-to-know-you-and-be-with-you-for-a-long-time kind of like (does that make sense?)
But after 1st period, I met another girl, Carmen. I didn’t feel the same thing for her that I felt towards Ashley, but I doubt that she was gay. I mean, come on! She’s stunning, with the most amazing brown eyes I have ever seen, and the body of a goddess. But from past experiences, I have learned to never let yourself fall for a straight girl. All you end up with is a broken heart.
—————————————-
As I was walking to lunch to meet up with my brothers Glen and Clay, I ran into Carmen.
Carmen: Spencer, hey!
Spencer: Oh hey, Carmen, what’s up?
Carmen: Nothing really. I was just wondering if… If you wanted to have lunch with me? You know, just as friends… You can say no if you want to.
Spencer: Of course I’ll eat with you. Just let me go tell my brothers. I’ll be right back.
I went to walk towards Glen, who was sitting with some other people who I have yet to meet. There was a guy with short dark hair and piercing green eyes, and a short brunette, who somewhat resembled Ashley.
Spencer: Hey Glen! I’m going to go eat lunch with a friend, so tell Clay I said hi, alright?
Glen: Yeah, sure, whatever…
Big brothers can be such asses sometimes. Stupid jerk.
After that delighful conversation with Glen, I walked over to meet Carmen where we were going to be eating lunch. We talked a lot, getting to know each other. I learned that she had just moved to LA herself, from a smaller town in California. I was just happy to know that I wasnt the only knew student here.
After probably 15 minutes of friendly banter, I looked over to the table where my brother and his ‘posse’ were sitting. That’s when I saw Ashley, looking directly at me. I smiled and waved, as did she. Soon, she began to walk over to me and Carmen.
Ashley: Hey Spencer.
Spencer: Hey Ashley. This is my friend, Carmen.
Ashley: Nice to meet you, Carmen.
Carmen: Nice to meet you, too.
Ashley had a forced smile on her face. I didn’t know what was wrong with her, so I decided to pull her aside to talk.
Spencer: Excuse us one second.
As we walked away, I could feel Ashley burning holes in the back of my head.
When we reached a tree that was out of earshot from the people outside, I couldn’t help but be furious, and start yelling.
Spencer: Ashley, what’s wrong with you? All I did was introduce you to a friend, and you just had to get all… all…. FAKE!
Ashley: Spencer, you wont understand it okay? So can we just drop it?
Spencer: No Ash, we cant! This isnt something that can just be forgotten about! I thought you were really nice and sweet, but the person back there… That’s not a person I want to be friends with.
I know it’s a little harsh, but still. She deserved after the way she treated Carmen back there.
Ashley: Okay, look. Can we at least talk about this somewhere more private? It’s really complicated, and I really dont need people getting more detail about me and my ever-so-wonderful life! Im sorry for the way that I acted. I just… nevermind.
Now, I feel really bad. Like, I’m about to cry bad. I didnt want her to get hurt. EVER. But I did anyway, and I feel like crap. I know I dont really know Ashley, but, I really do care about this girl, and i cant just lose someone like that.
Spencer: I’m sorry too. If you want, we can go to your place now, and maybe talk about it?
Ashley: Yeah, I’d like that.
