Family Rivals – (Chapter: Chapter 3 "Old Memories")
My Dad automatically posted up a schedule for us to follow while we were here, it had a bunch of stuff on it from work out routines and sessions to chores/responsibilities. You’d think the point of a ‘vacation’ would be fun? But not in this house, no sir.
"Hey Dad do you think you could cut back on the chores, I mean if you actually wanna win the cup this year, we’re probably going to need more training" I even had to admit, I had a way with words, he knew I was right and that we would need more time to prepare this year.
"You know you’re right Spence, last time it was like this and look what happened then? So I’ll cut back and move stuff around"
The schedule was taking down right after and he disappeared into his computer room to readjust it. I was then greeted by a pair of arms wrapping themselves around me soon after, I turned around to be meeting by my soft hazel nut eyes.
"Hey babe, did you already unpack your stuff?"
"Yeah and yours too"
"Awh you’re too nice, thanks, guess what?" I asked her smiling, I had something up my sleeve for today, I knew everyone would be busy unpacking and Dad would be doing the schedule while Mom’s unpacking their stuff too.
"What babe?"
"I wanna show you a place I found as a kid here, only I knew about it"
"Ouu what do you have up your sleeve now Spence?"
We were grinning and happy at the fact we’d finally have some down time.
When we arrived at the creek that led to the lake we sat down together on a flat rock. It was perfect since it was sort of high and you could see everything below, the cabins, the water and of course the reflecting sun that set upon it. It was so secluded and was covered in trees and bushes with enough room for us to sit and talk and still be able to see everything.
"I love you Spencer"
"You…wh-what?" This was the first time she’d ever use those words with me.
"I love you, how couldn’t I, I mean you’re perfect!"

After I was done unpacking and I noticed I was done before everyone I decided it would be a perfect time to take a little hike to my spot also known as my safe place. I found it while I was venturing off from the others, I just couldn’t take the pressure of having work-out cram sessions every morning and every night, it was like it was becoming to much of an addiction for them to win it? What’s the point of it anyways, aren’t camps suppose to be known for fun and not rivalry? But anyways I found this little patch of freedom while I was away from the gang and noticed it’d be perfect to escape once in a while.
"Ky I’m going for a walk, text me if you need me"
"Alright Ash"
While I was making my way I got more and more excited to see how the place has grown since I left it 4 years ago, and not only that but it’s coming close to sun down it’s so breath taking. Inspiring to say the least. A place to work on my music, not that my parents care that I want to do that in life, they only expect me to follow up on my school work, my Dad’s life is something my Mom doesn’t want me having. Of course my Dad’s over protective of his daughters.
"I love you, how couldn’t I, I mean you’re perfect!"
Who the hell could that be? No one knows about this place? Or So I thought…?
