A bright Light.

Mommy is cooking.

Jade is walking into the room.

A box? In her hand?

A box!

She kisses mommy on the next. Mommy smiles.

She turns.

Jade is on one knee.

She opens the black box.

A ring!

"Will you be my wife?"

Boxes are packed.

My sister is beside me.

We look around our room.

It’s ours but not as I remember.

It’s empty. Nothing.

No memories.

Where are my memories?

"Kids we’re leaving!"

We walk down the steps.

Out the door now in the car.

We look back.

There she is.

Ma.

My Ma. Mi-Ma.

Tears are falling.

She is looking out of a window.

Her hand is on the glass.

We do the same

She is signing something.

"I’ll Love You, Always."

We drive off.

We dont see her any more.

We cant see her.

Where is she?

Empty.

I feel empty.

Empty.

We feel empty!

“Wake up.”

Don’t you hate when you hear something that might be real, in your dreams?

“Wake up.”

Now I’m being shaken.

I open my eyes and look towards my clock then to the children next to me. It’s 3am. What are they doing up?

“We had a bad dream” they cry.

That’s strange they both had one. “You’ll be okay honey bunnies.”

“No.” they yell. “Something happened to mommy.”

Hayden continues, “I had a dream that mommy married Jade.”

“That we moved” Trinity adds

Again in unison they cry, “We forgot about you.”

“What do you mean?” I ask now sitting up against the bed.

"A nightmare!" yells Trinity. Thats not exactly what i didnt understand.

“You weren’t in our family any more.” Hayden sobs. “It was scary. We woke up and ran to your room.”

I laugh. How the heck did they both have the same dream? The twin thing, that they do, freaks me out sometimes.

“That’s not funny” Hayden pouts. It is so cute. She looks just like Spencer. The only difference is that she has my eyes. Wow.

“I know loves. But it would take more than Jade to take me away from you.” I pat the middle of my bed. “Get in” they do as they are told and get under the covers. I don’t sleep in the nude when they are here so they shouldn’t have any surprises. “I love your mom and she knows that. A long time ago I hurt her but I promise we’ll be a family again, so no need to worry.”

“Are you sure?” Trinity asks. “Jade got mommy a ring.”

“We saw it.” Hayden adds. "Why can’t you make it better faster? Mommy might take us away. I can’t live without you Mi-Ma."

"Our life will be ruined."

I am really trying to maintain my self control but some of the things that come out of their mouths are either too funny or too smart. Maybe all of the above sometimes. "Like I said before Jade can’t take me away from you and neither can your mommy. I’d fight for you."

"Really?" they ask

I nod. As I look into the mixture of blue and brown I see hope. I envision our future, our family, and more additions to it. We are happy. I sigh, “Can we worry about that in the morning? I’m tired and you should be too.”

They nod and kiss me on the cheek heading off to dreamland. We have a lot of plotting and planning to do in the morning.
