    The Party

    Recap….

    Tina (whispering): You’re mine, Bette.

A slow, satisfied smile spreads across Bette’s lips.

Bette (softly): And you, baby, are everything to me…. (her voice dips, rich with warmth and teasing) You don’t even realize, do you?

Tina: (teasing) Hmm… then tell me, Bette. What am I to you?

Bette: (voice dropping to a gentle whisper) Then listen closely, baby (Softly her voice laced with warmth and something deeper something that lingers.)

“Come to me like a whisper, igniting a spark,
my hand tracing constellations in the dark.
Be the storm and the stillness, the fire and the ember,
the poem I’ll write on your skin to remember.”

A pause. The air between them feels electric, even through the phone.

    Tina (breathless): Bette….

Bette (smirking): Sweet dreams, gorgeous. I’ll see you tomorrow.

Tina lingers for a moment after the call ends, her heart racing, her fingers brushing against her lips. The words settle deep inside her, a warmth she doesn’t want to shake.

She already knows Bette isn’t just a fleeting moment. She’s a story, a love letter, a poem Tina will never stop reading.

    Chapter:5 The Party

Tina arrives at the party with Bette by her side, the two stepping into the softly lit home that hums with laughter, clinking glasses, and the low thump of bass from a playlist curated for the night. Bette looks effortlessly magnetic in a fitted black blazer over a dark silk shirt, the top few buttons undone to reveal just a hint of collarbone. Her sharp jawline and slicked back hair make her presence undeniable, the low lighting catching the subtle sheen of her cufflinks Her tailored pants hug just right, and the gleam of her shoes matches the quiet confidence in her stride.

Tina, in contrast is radiant in a form fitting burgundy dress that complements her complexion, her hair falling in soft waves over her shoulders. Together, they make a striking pair. The room stills for a moment as they enter.

Guest (whispering): Wow… I didn’t think she was actually serious about Tina.

Guest (watching them): Yeah, I thought Bette was just having fun. But look at them this isn’t casual.

Tina’s smile falters just slightly It’s subtle, the kind of shift only someone deeply attuned to her would notice and Bette notices.

    The Slow Burn

    Recap….

The kiss is a storm into itself wild, urgent, a tangled confession of every unsaid word. It crashes between them like thunder, fierce and unrelenting, lips searching, hands grasping, bodies pulling closer as if the space between them no longer exists. The rain weaves through their hair, clings to their skin, slipping down their faces like the tears neither will shed. Bette’s fingers knot into Tina’s damp curls, anchoring her, while Tina grips the fabric of Bette’s jacket, as if letting go would send her spiraling into the unknown. They are lost in the downpour, in each other, in a moment where the whole world fades, leaving only the rain and the breathless ache between them.

When they finally pull away, their foreheads rest together, breathless, the storm still raging around them.

Tina: (whispering, eyes closed) Don’t make me regret this.

Bette tightens her hold on Tina’s waist, pressing another lingering kiss to her forehead.

Bette: (soft but certain) I won’t.

Tina exhales, finally letting herself believe it.

The rain keeps falling, but now, they don’t care.

    Chapter: 4

    Bette’s Room

Bette unlocks the door to her dorm room and steps aside, watching as Tina hesitantly crosses the threshold. The room is warm, dimly lit by a small lamp on the bedside table, casting a golden glow over the walls adorned with art prints and neatly stacked law books. The soft patter of rain against the window fills the quiet space, mirroring the weight of the moment between them. Their clothes cling to their skin, soaked from the storm outside, but neither seems to notice the chill.

Without a word, Bette moves to a small cabinet, pulling out a fresh towel and offering it to Tina.

Bette: Here, dry off. I’ll get you something to change into.

Tina takes the towel, her hands trembling slightly as she dabs at her damp hair. She watches Bette rummage through a dresser, her movements calm but deliberate, as if trying not to let her own nerves show. Finally, Bette returns, holding out an oversized sweatshirt and a pair of soft sweatpants. walking back to Tina and holding them out.

Bette: These should fit okay. The bathroom’s right there if you want to change.

Tina hesitates, their fingers briefly brushing as she takes the clothes. The warmth of Bette’s skin lingers like an unspoken promise. She nods and disappears into the bathroom, closing the door softly behind her.

Lost & Found in the Rain

    Recap…

Bette walks into her room, closing the door quietly behind her. She leans against it for a moment, letting out a deep breath. Alice is nowhere to be seen, likely out with Shane and the others. The room is quiet, and the only light comes from the desk lamp she left on.

She sits on her bed, kicking off her boots and leaning back against the pillows. Her mind is racing, replaying the night over and over the way Tina laughed, the warmth in her eyes, the way her hand fit perfectly in Bette’s as they danced.

For the first time in a long while, Bette feels something she can’t quite put into words. It’s not just attraction it’s deeper, more meaningful. She runs a hand through her hair, letting out a soft chuckle.

Bette: (to herself) You’re in trouble, Porter.

She glances at her phone, tempted to text Tina, but decides against it. Instead, she sets an alarm for the morning, eager for their breakfast date. As she finally settles into bed, a rare sense of contentment washes over her. With Tina on her mind, she drifts off to sleep, a small smile lingering on her lips.

    Chapter 3:

A bustling breakfast cafe just off campus, the smell of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon filling the air. Bette stands outside, leaning casually against the doorframe, dressed in a smart, dark jacket over a simple t-shirt and jeans. She checks her watch and looks up just as Tina appears down the street, her hair glowing in the morning sunlight. She’s wearing a casual, flowy top and jeans, looking effortlessly radiant.

Bette straightens, her smile spreading as Tina approaches.

    Bette: Right on time. Impressive.

Tina: (grinning) You’d better have coffee ready for me after last night. That jazz club wiped me out.

Bette: (laughing) Coffee’s on me. Let’s go.

They head inside and grab a small table by the window, the morning light streaming in. Bette orders them both coffees, along with pancakes for Tina and an omelet for herself.

Tina: This place is cute. Do you come here often?

Bette: Only when I want to impress someone.

Tina: (playfully) So, what is this? Date number two?

Bette: (smirking) You keeping count already?

    The Date

    Recap….

Bette gets ready to leave, she pulls her phone out of her bag, hesitating for just a moment before handing it to Tina.

Bette: (smirking) I’m not great at leaving things to chance. Put your number in
Tina chuckles, taking the phone and typing her number in before handing it back.

Tina: I figured you’d want to control the follow-up. There you go.

Bette: You’re not wrong. And you’d better answer when I call.

Tina: (grinning) Guess you’ll have to find out.

They share another lingering look before Bette walks out of the coffee shop, a small smile playing on her lips, while Tina watches her go, clearly intrigued.

Tina stays behind, sipping her coffee, a faint smile on her face as she watches Bette through the window.

    Chapter 2

    Bette’s Dorm Room

Bette returns to her room, her space meticulously organized textbooks stacked neatly, a calendar full of deadlines pinned to the wall. She tosses her bag onto the bed and pulls out her notebook, staring at it for a moment before sighing. She’s clearly distracted.

Just then, her door bursts open, and Alice, her bubbly and outspoken best friend, walks in without knocking, as usual.

Alice: Bette Porter, why do you look like someone just stole your courtroom spotlight? And why aren’t you dressed to go out? We’re hitting the club tonight.

Bette: (rolling her eyes) Alice, I have about a million things to do, and

Alice: (cutting her off) Nope. Not tonight. You work too much, and your brain is going to explode. So, get up, put on something fabulous, and let’s go. Shane’s already waiting.

Bette hesitates but eventually sighs, giving in. Alice grabs a sleek black dress from Bette’s closet and throws it at her.

Alice: There. Perfect. Now hurry up, Dana’s meeting us there.

The club is packed and pulsing with energy. Neon lights flash across the dance floor, and a deep bass beat fills the room. Bette, Alice, and Shane walk in together, immediately catching the attention of a few people as they move toward the bar. Dana, their shy and awkward friend, waves them over from the dance floor.

Dana: (yelling over the music) Finally I’ve been here forever

Alice: (teasing) Dana, it’s been ten minutes. Relax.

    The College Festival

    Recap…

Bette walks into her house, the door clicking shut behind her. The silence is deafening. The once-vibrant home feels cold and lifeless. She drops her bag on the couch and makes her way to the living room. Her eyes land on the wall where their family photos hanging collage of happier times. She steps closer, her fingers brushing over a photo of her, Tina, and their children Bradley Knox and Angelica laughing at a picnic. Tears well up in her eyes.

Her gaze shifts to the bedroom door. Slowly, she walks in, only to be met with the sight of an empty wardrobe Tina’s side completely bare. The absence of her presence is overwhelming. Bette sits on the edge of the bed, her head in her hands as tears stream down her face. The weight of her mistakes presses heavily on her.

Bette: (whispering to herself) I’ll bring us back together. I’ll fix this. I’ll fix everything.

She closes her eyes, and remembers the day how this all started…..

    Chapter 1

A bustling college campus on a warm spring day. The quad is alive with energy students laughing, music playing, and colorful booths set up for the art festival.

Bette walks purposefully through the festival, exuding confidence. She’s impeccably dressed in a tailored blazer and jeans, her posture straight and her gaze sharp. She carries a notebook tucked under her arm, a clear indication of her always prepared, goal-oriented personality.

She stops at a booth, scanning the art exhibits. Her friend, James, a laid-back college buddy, jogs up to her.

James: (teasing) Of course you’re here on a mission, Bette. Let me guess networking for the art department gala?

Bette: (smirking) Always thinking ahead, James. Someone has to bring order to this chaos.

James: I know…. I know… you are here to have some fun right.

Bette rolls her eyes but follows him into the heart of the festival.

As they pass by a large mural in progress, Bette suddenly stops, captivated.

The mural is an explosion of color abstract swirls and bold strokes that seem to vibrate with energy. Tina Kennard, the artist, is crouched in front of it, her overalls smeared with paint. She’s completely engrossed, her brush moving with confident, intuitive strokes. Her blonde hair is tied back in a messy ponytail, strands escaping and sticking to her face. There’s a carefree, magnetic aura about her.
